Victory Bible Church International (VBCI), one of the most vibrant Ghanaian Charismatic and Pentecostal Bible-believing churches, is hosting a Wonderful Jesus Conference to commemorate its 40th anniversary.
As part of the celebration, the church, led by its Founder and Presiding Bishop Rt. Rev. Nii Nabi Apiakai Tackie-Yarboi will launch its annual flagship conference, the Wonderful Jesus Conference, on October 27th, 2025, at its headquarters, Dominion Sanctuary, Awoshie-Accra.
This year’s conference, which marks the climax of the 40th anniversary celebration, is themed “Raising the Foundations of Many Generations”. This is also the Mission of the Church, anchored in the verse of scripture in the book of Isaiah chapter 58:12, which states;
“And they that shall be of thee shall build the old waste places: thou shalt raise the foundations of many generations; and thou shalt be called, The repairer of the breach, The restorer of paths to dwell in.”
From Monday to Thursday, October 27-30, 2025, Services will be held both in the morning and evening, with an evening service at the Black Star Square, on Friday, 31st October. Saturday will be used for a medical community outreach and screening at Mantse Agbona, a suburb in Accra. The grand anniversary service will be on November 2, 2025, at the Black Star Square.
Conference Speakers and Artistes
Speakers for the conference include the Presiding Bishop of Victory Bible Churches worldwide, Rt. Rev. Nii Nabi Apiakai Tackie-Yarboi, Deputy Presiding Bishop in charge of Europe and Asia, Bishop Clement Amankwah Asihene, Bishop Elijah Saforo, Bishop in charge of the Americas, Bishop Emmanuel Ackun, Global Director of the Church Growth Council, and Bishop Richard Ampadu-Duku, Cape Coast, among others.
Among the many music artists billed to minister throughout the week-long church activities are Joe Mettle, Team Eternity Ghana, and Sandra Boakye Duah. Artistes drawn from within the Church are PEREZ Musik, Rev. Dr. Ken Boadu, Cynthia McCauley, Ebenezer Solomon, Perry Lokko, and Frank Guilford. The Mass Choirs and the Church’s dynamic Drama and Dance group, Divine Expressions, will also minister.
Brief History of the Church
VBCI turned 40 on June 2, his year. Its maiden service was held on June 2, 1985, at Kokomlemle, a suburb of Accra. Over the past 40 years, it has expanded to more than ten countries on four continents (Africa, Asia, the Americas, and Europe).
The Church currently has over 175 branches in Ghana alone, and its administrative office employs over 70 permanent staff members and several hundred lay ministers or non-permanent staff. The Ministry has 30 consecrated Bishops globally who preside over the churches’ 39 global provinces. In all, VBCI has 250 local branches known as Sanctuaries.
Anniversary Launch/Celebrations
On Sunday, 26 January 2025, at its headquarters church, Dominion Sanctuary, in Accra, the church launched the 40th anniversary celebration and unveiled the anniversary logo.
A series of events has since been held to mark the 40th anniversary celebrations, including a conference featuring renowned international speakers, outdoor crusades/street evangelism, a musical concert showcasing gospel artists from VBCI and other ministries, community outreach programs, and a health walk.
There have also been Youth-centric events organized to create a unique platform for young people to recognize their worth, receive guidance to prepare for leadership and thrive, create a safe space to address their challenges, and know that their contributions are appreciated.
