The Black Princesses will face Uganda in the last phase of the 2026 FIFA U20 Women’s World Cup Qualifiers.

This follows the two teams’ wins on Sunday, which gave them aggregate wins over South Africa and Zambia, respectively, in the third round of the qualifiers.

Having played out a 2-2 draw at the Accra Sports Stadium, Charles Sampson’s side beat South Africa 1-0 in the reverse fixture courtesy of substitute Priscilla Mensah’s strike.

Uganda, on the other hand, was held to a 1-1 draw in its first third-round game against Zambia at home.

However, they sealed a 1-0 victory on the road in the return encounter to also advance to the last phase of the qualifiers.

The Princesses are chasing an eighth successive appearance at the U20 Women’s World Cup, having been present since their debut in 2010.

The fixture between the two teams is scheduled for May as the pair fight for one of the four spots allocated to the African continent.

Ghana enjoyed a bright start to the game but was denied on several occasions by the South African defence.

Jenna Sarpong was also called into action a few times, but she made the needed saves to keep her side in the game.

The two teams went into the break with nothing separating them.

After the recess, the Princesses were forced into a change with Priscilla Mensah taking the place of injured Mary Amponsah.

Priscilla scored 18 minutes after her introduction to give Ghana the advantage.

Despite a late South African attempt, the Black Princesses held on to their lead and went on to claim a 3-2 aggregate win.
