The Law Students’ Network (LSN) has launched the 2026 edition of its Leadership and Law Series and inaugurated its Kumasi Chapter, marking a strategic expansion of the group’s activities beyond the capital.

The two-day event was held on February 24–26, 2026, at the Ghana School of Law’s Kumasi campus. The Series brings together experienced legal professionals and students to examine the delicate balance between leadership and the law.

Organisers say the 2026 series is expected to feature legal luminaries drawn from law practice, politics, and academia, with the aim of exposing students to practical insights and leadership perspectives within the legal profession.

This year’s Kumasi launch represents the first major programme organised by the Network outside Accra; a move the group says reflects its commitment to deepening nationwide engagement.

Kumasi Chapter

The launch was followed by the formal inauguration of the Kumasi Chapter of LSN on February 26, 2026.

Addressing participants at both events, the Convenor of LSN, Abraham Kwaku Gyasi, said the Network, as a pro-party organisation within the Ghana School of Law, deliberately structures its programmes to identify with and mobilise party members and sympathisers across campuses.

He explained that the initiative seeks to consolidate efforts to promote the interests of the New Patriotic Party while leveraging students’ competencies in leadership, advocacy, research, policy development, operations, and welfare.

Mr. Gyasi noted that the Leadership and Law seminar has been carefully designed to provide a common interactive platform for the exchange of ideas and to help consolidate political orientation among participants.

According to him, proposed topics for this year’s series include the role of lawyers in Ghana’s current political dynamics; opportunities in legal practice and the roadmap to success after law school; communication and advocacy as tools for national growth; the present and future of the NPP; and the role of the young patriot in securing victory in 2028.

The programme will also feature focus group discussions on emerging areas of law and B2C mapping between law firms and prospective interns or pupils.

Scholarship Deadline Extended

In a related development, LSN has extended the application deadline for its 2026 scholarship scheme to March 2, 2026.

In a statement, the Network said the extension follows the high level of interest and the technical requirements of the application process.

“Applicants are encouraged to utilise this additional time to ensure their documentation is complete and reflects the high standards of the Network. We remind all candidates that the selection process remains competitive,” the statement said.
