Hon. Edmond Boateng has been elected Secretary General of the HCCGH following a fully supervised electronic voting process, the Electoral Committee announced Thursday.
The vote, conducted from 18 to 19 March, saw full participation from the 36 eligible voters. Boateng secured 24 votes, representing 66.7 percent of the total, defeating Hon. Jean Pierre Diassouka, who received 12 votes.
The Electoral Committee confirmed that the election was conducted transparently and without material irregularities, although it noted one minor case of duplicate voting deemed immaterial to the outcome.
“The election process was peaceful and orderly, with strong engagement from all stakeholders,” the committee said in its report, adding that the results would be considered definitive after a 24-hour observation period in the absence of substantiated objections.
Boateng will assume office as Secretary General of the HCCGH, tasked with overseeing administrative and policy functions for the organization. The committee congratulated all candidates and thanked voters for their participation.
