The National Identification Authority (NIA) has announced a revision in fees for selected Ghana Card services, a move it says is intended to enhance service delivery and ensure the sustainability of the national identification system.
The Authority said the new charges apply to services including first-time registration for non-citizens, replacement of lost or damaged cards, updates to personal records, and expedited processing.

According to the NIA, the fee adjustment follows a review of rising operational costs such as logistics, technology maintenance, and staffing.
In a notice, the Authority stressed that the Ghana Card remains a vital national document for accessing government services, conducting financial transactions, and benefiting from social intervention programmes.
