Minority Chief Whip and Member of Parliament (MP) for Nsawam-Adoagyiri, Frank Annoh-Dompreh, has donated medical equipment together with a cash amount to the Nsawam Government Hospital located in his constituency to mark his 48th Birthday.

The MP, whose birthday is 25 October, instead of hosting a party or a grand celebration, chose to donate vital medical equipment and financial support, particularly to the hospital’s Maternity Unit, through his loyal support group, the Friends of Annoh-Dompreh (FAD).

As part of the kind gesture, Mr Annoh-Dompreh’s team presented cash donations to 100 nursing mothers at the Nsawam Government Hospital.

The presentations were delivered on the MP’s behalf by the leadership of his constituency, as he is currently out of the jurisdiction.

Ahead of the donation, the Friends of Annoh-Dompreh held a health walk from the Nsawam Mobile Junction to the Nsawam Government Hospital.

Several constituents of Nsawam-Adoagyiri participated in the health walk, accompanied by brass band music and dancing.

Receiving the items on behalf of the hospital, Madam Jenette Nyaning Kessie, a Senior Midwife and Second-in-Charge at the Maternity Unit, expressed profound gratitude to Annoh-Dompreh for his continuous support over the years.

She noted that the MP has remained one of the hospital’s most reliable benefactors, often stepping in to provide resources and help meet the emergency needs of the government hospital.

In her remarks, Madam Jenette Nyaning Kessie observed that there is a growing challenge at the Nsawam Government Hospital that needs urgent attention. The challenge, she said, has to do with severe congestion at the maternity ward, which has resulted in pregnant women often struggling to find beds.

Madam Kessie, to this end, took the opportunity to appeal to the government to help complete the new Maternity Block, a project initiated by Annoh-Dompreh that is currently about 70% complete.

She stressed that once completed, the block would significantly ease pressure on the existing ward and improve healthcare delivery for mothers and babies.

The Nsawam Government Hospital serves not only residents of Nsawam-Adoagyiri but also nearby communities in the Eastern Region, making it one of the busiest public hospitals in the Municipality.

Over the years, Annoh-Dompreh has supported the hospital with renovations, medical supplies, and financial aid, reinforcing his commitment to improving healthcare and community welfare.
