Ghana’s Minister for Education, Haruna Iddrisu, and the Deputy Minister for Communications and Digital Technology, Mohammed Adams Sukparu, were involved in a road traffic accident in the early hours of Thursday, February 12, 2026.
The incident occurred along the Bolgatanga–Tumu road while the ministers and members of their convoy were en route to the Upper West Region.
They were scheduled to participate in the 40th anniversary celebrations of Tumu College of Education and Jahan College of Education—an event expected to attract key education stakeholders, traditional authorities, and government officials.
Preliminary information from officials indicates that both ministers are in stable condition. Other members of the convoy also received medical attention after the crash, with authorities confirming that no life-threatening injuries have been reported.
