The Kwahu Business Advocacy Association (KBAA), a newly established non-governmental organisation aimed at uniting key business owners and corporate executives of Kwahu descent, has been officially inaugurated in Accra.
The inauguration ceremony, held on Wednesday, February 25, 2026, at the Alisa Hotel at Ridge, brought together prominent entrepreneurs, corporate leaders, policymakers, and members of the Kwahu business community from across the country.
Addressing Members of Parliament, traditional leaders, business executives and invited guests at the inauguration of the Association, Mr. Kwabena Adjare Daquah, President and Chairman of the Board of Trustees of the Kwahu Business Advocacy Association (KBAA), pledged to lead the newly formalised business body with integrity, unity and strategic focus, declaring that the Association marks a defining chapter in the collective journey of Kwahu entrepreneurs.
Mr. Danquah said he was deeply honoured and humbled to serve as President. He expressed gratitude to Almighty God and extended sincere appreciation to the Association’s founding members and leadership for the confidence reposed in him.
“This is not merely a new office; it is a serious responsibility,” he stated. “I accept it with dedication, resolve, and commitment to serve with integrity and purpose.”
He noted that Kwahu enterprises have long been synonymous with resilience, strong commercial instincts and an unwavering entrepreneurial spirit. According to him, even before the formal establishment of the KBAA, Kwahu business people had already built enduring enterprises, created employment opportunities, and contributed significantly to Ghana’s economic landscape.
From bustling markets and distribution networks to boardrooms and industrial ventures, Kwahu entrepreneurs have consistently demonstrated courage, discipline, and ambition, he said. “Today, we formalise that legacy,” he declared, explaining that the creation of the Association represents a collective decision to transition from individual accomplishments to organised influence.
Mr. Danquah emphasised that the KBAA is charting a new path rooted in unity, innovation, strategic advocacy, and sustainable growth. He stressed the need to move beyond informal networking towards building a coherent, disciplined, and robust business community that actively supports the interests of every member, from emerging enterprises to established corporations, with the ultimate aim of nurturing globally competitive businesses.
Outlining his vision, the President said the Association would serve as a credible and respected voice for enterprise, strengthening partnerships with government regulators, financial institutions, and development partners to ensure that the interests of its members are represented with clarity, evidence, and responsibility.
He also underscored the importance of delivering tangible value to members through empowerment initiatives, succession planning, and family business continuity strategies. The Association, he said, would build platforms that foster collaboration, mentorship, and continuous growth among members.
In an era defined by technological advancement and rapid transformation, Mr. Danquah called on members to embrace innovation, sustainable practices, and forward-looking strategies to keep Kwahu businesses competitive within Ghana and across the African Continental Free Trade Area. He further pledged to promote joint ventures, connect members with strategic opportunities, and build enterprises’ capacity to scale and expand.
According to him, the broader objective of the Association is clear: job creation through collaboration, enterprise expansion, strategic partnerships, and long-term prosperity anchored on disciplined organisation.
He, however, cautioned that the mission cannot be realised by leadership alone. “An association is only as strong as the conviction and participation of its members,” he said, urging members to contribute not only capital but also ideas, expertise, and integrity.
Mr. Danquah encouraged members to model ethical leadership and pursue excellence, stressing that the Association must command respect not because of its size, but because of its substance. He added that the KBAA is designed to be complementary, not competitive, and affirmed its commitment to working harmoniously with existing institutions to advance the shared interests of the Kwahu business community and the nation at large.
