The Accra Regional Police Command has taken into custody two women over the alleged assault of a 12-year-old girl near the La Roman JHS School.
According to a police statement issued on Wednesday, December 4, 2025, the incident occurred on Tuesday, December 3, 2025. The case was reported by the victim’s mother, who brought her daughter to the police station with visible injuries. She alleged that her daughter was attacked without provocation by three women.
Police investigations so far indicate that earlier that day, the victim had been involved in a disagreement with a seven-year-old boy, identified as Horm Giftan Mesopeh, who is related to the suspects.
Following the incident, the suspects allegedly went to the victim’s home, took her to their residence, and assaulted her.
The two arrested suspects have been named as Precious Giftan Mesopeh, 22, and Princess Giftan Mesopeh, 25. A third suspect, Priscilla Novisla Wornyo, 49, a fashion designer and mother of the two women, is reported to have travelled to the Volta Region.
Police say the two suspects have been formally charged and remain in custody to assist with investigations. They are expected to be arraigned before the court on Monday, January 5, 2025, while efforts continue to locate and arrest the third suspect.
The Accra Regional Police Command has warned the public against resorting to violence to settle disputes, particularly those involving children, and has urged parents and community members to pursue lawful avenues that safeguard the rights and welfare of minors.
