In a remarkable blend of intellect, ambition, and grace, celebrated Ghanaian broadcaster Serwaa Amihere has officially been called to the Ghana Bar, marking a powerful new chapter in her multifaceted career.
At a grand ceremony held on October 10, 2025, the GH One TV anchor joined a new class of lawyers formally inducted into the legal profession.
The event drew members of the Judiciary, the General Legal Council (GLC), distinguished legal practitioners, scholars, and proud well-wishers from Ghana’s media and entertainment industry.
As news of her achievement spread, social media lit up with praise for the broadcaster-turned-barrister, commending her determination and depth.
From News Room to Court Room
For years, Serwaa Amihere has been a familiar face on Ghanaian television — admired for her eloquence, poise, and command of current affairs. Yet behind the scenes, she was quietly pursuing another lifelong goal: a career in law.
Her academic journey began at Methodist University College, where she graduated in 2013 with a Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration (Finance).
She later earned her Bachelor of Laws (LLB) from the Ghana Institute of Management and Public Administration (GIMPA), finishing with second-class upper honours — a testament to her intellectual discipline.
Determined to master the law’s practical dimensions, she went on to the Ghana School of Law, where she completed the rigorous professional programme that paved the way for her Bar admission.
Now officially “Serwaa Amihere, Esq.,” she stands ready to merge her media influence with her legal expertise — amplifying conversations about justice, governance, and civic responsibility.
A Vision of Empowerment
Speaking with heartfelt gratitude, Serwaa credited her success to divine grace, family support, and the mentorship she received along the way. She reflected on the many late nights spent studying while juggling her demanding broadcasting schedule, sharing that her motivation stemmed from a desire to use the law to “give voice to the voiceless and protect the vulnerable.”
She expressed a strong commitment to serving the public, whether through legal advocacy, litigation, or public education. Her dual role as journalist and lawyer, she noted, offers her a unique opportunity to translate complex legal matters into accessible discussions that inform and empower everyday Ghanaians.
A Trailblazer in Every Sense
Serwaa’s achievement stands as an inspiration to many — particularly young women navigating the pursuit of multiple passions. Her story underscores that with focus and perseverance, one can excel across disciplines and redefine what professional success looks like in modern Ghana.
Beyond her legal and broadcasting pursuits, Serwaa has built an impressive legacy as a philanthropist and entrepreneur. Through the Serwaa Amihere Foundation, founded in 2020, she supports education, healthcare, and women’s empowerment initiatives.
Her entrepreneurial ventures include Office & Co by SA, a contemporary fashion label, and Oh My Hair / Oh My Nails, both of which promote confidence and sophistication in corporate style.
Her media career has earned her multiple accolades, including three RTP Awards for Best TV Newscaster (2019, 2020, and 2023) and the Women’s Choice Awards (2023) for Humanitarian and TV Personality of the Year.
A Legacy in Motion
As Serwaa Amihere transitions from the studio lights to the courtroom bench, she embodies a new generation of Ghanaian women breaking barriers with intellect and elegance. Her story is a reminder that true influence transcends titles — it lies in purpose, perseverance, and the courage to evolve.
