Villarreal midfielder Thomas Partey has been hit with two additional rape charges in the United Kingdom, the British Metropolitan Police have confirmed.
The Ghanaian international had previously been charged in August 2025 with five counts of rape and two counts of sexual assault, to which he has pleaded not guilty.
The latest allegations, reported by Diario AS, arise from a separate complaint filed in 2020 and involve a third alleged victim.
Partey is scheduled to appear in a London court on Friday, March 13, where he is expected to enter a plea on the new charges.
He remains on bail in relation to the initial case, which involves two complainants and is still ongoing.
Thomas Partey, 32, left London on a free transfer after his legal issues became public and signed a two-year contract with Villarreal last summer.
Despite backlash from some supporters, the Spanish club defended its decision at the time, stressing the presumption of innocence. Villarreal has yet to comment on the latest development.
On the pitch, Partey has struggled to establish himself since his return to Spain. The former Arsenal midfielder has made 21 appearances for Villarreal, accumulating 1,068 minutes, but has started only 12 matches and completed just three full games.
Following a 3–0 defeat to Bayer Leverkusen, manager Marcelino Garcia Toral said it has been “very difficult to play” at Partey’s pace.
The combination of his ongoing legal challenges and inconsistent form has cast a shadow over Partey’s time at Villarreal and drawn wider attention to the club’s international image.
