A distinguished panel of experts drawn from governance, taxation, climate finance, communications, labour relations and industry will headline the ICEDEG-Africa Policy Dialogue Roundtable scheduled for today, June 19, 2026, to discuss Ghana’s economic outlook ahead of the Mid-Year Budget Review.
The event, organised by the Iustum Center for Democracy and Governance (ICEDEG-Africa), will be held virtually under the theme, “Economic Confidence and Fiscal Expectations: Stakeholder Perspectives Ahead of Ghana’s 2026 Mid-Year Budget Review.”
In a statement released by the Communications Directorate of ICEDEG-Africa, the think tank indicated that the dialogue forms part of efforts to promote evidence-based policymaking and provide a platform for constructive engagement on key economic and fiscal issues confronting the country.
Distinguished Speakers
According to the statement, the roundtable will feature a diverse panel of experts, including Prince David Orchill, National Chairman of the DVLA Workers Union; Dr. Mercedes Rowe Asamani, governance and climate policy expert; Maxwell Kudekor, journalist and development communication specialist; Sophia Kudjordji, Senior Public Relations and Communications Expert; Richard Amo-Hene, Chartered Accountant and Tax Compliance Expert; Kwesi Yamoah Abaidoo, Policy Lead for Climate Finance and Energy Transition at the Institute of Climate and Environmental Governance (ICEG); Michael Obiri-Adjei, Executive Secretary of the EXIM Frozen Foods Association of Ghana; and Ellen Ofosu Asieduaa, Executive Secretary of ICEDEG-Africa.
The speakers are expected to provide expert insights on fiscal policy, taxation, climate finance, governance, public sector management, trade and private sector growth.
Practical Solutions
The Communications Directorate noted that the engagement will focus on assessing the performance and economic impact of the 2026 Budget while examining stakeholder expectations ahead of the Mid-Year Budget Review.
It said discussions would go beyond commentary to explore practical policy solutions capable of strengthening economic confidence, improving fiscal management and supporting sustainable growth.
The outcome of the dialogue is expected to be consolidated into a policy brief to inform government decision-making and contribute to ongoing discussions on Ghana’s economic direction.
Promoting Evidence-Based Policy
ICEDEG-Africa stated that the roundtable aligns with its mission of strengthening democratic governance, enhancing public accountability and promoting informed policy discourse.
The event, which runs from 5:00 p.m. to 6:30 p.m., will be streamed live on ICEDEG-Africa’s digital platforms, allowing policymakers, civil society organisations, industry players and members of the public to participate in the conversation on Ghana’s fiscal future.
