The Ghana Police Service has retrieved eight mobile phones, a stolen green Bajaj tricycle, popularly known as a ‘pragya’, and other items following the arrest of two suspects over the murder of a female commercial tricycle operator in the Bono East Region.
The items recovered include an iPhone 12 Pro suspected to belong to the deceased, three SIM cards, an MTN MiFi device, a bunch of keys, two lighters, a jackknife cover and a number plate bearing registration number M-26-AE 2047, the police said in a statement.
The suspects, identified as Peter Nchor Asadigina, 21, and Mudasel Dramani, 19, were arrested on Friday, 30 October 2026, at Hansua following a tip-off.
The victim, Afia Agartha, popularly known as “One Cedi”, was a 23-year-old commercial tricycle operator and a player for Kumasi Fabulous Ladies.
She was reportedly killed along the Afrancho-Ahodwo road in the Atwima Kwanwoma Municipality of the Ashanti Region, on Thursday, 29 October, at about 11:00 pm.
Preliminary police investigations indicate that the suspects allegedly hired her services from Ampabame Lorry Station in Kumasi on 29 October to transport them to Afrancho, near Konkoli, in the Trede District.
The two allegedly attacked and killed her before fleeing with her green Bajaj tricycle.
Police said the suspects were arrested while travelling towards Techiman, reportedly intending to relocate and use the stolen tricycle for commercial activities.
The victim’s body has been deposited at a mortuary for preservation and autopsy.
The suspects remain in police custody and are assisting with investigations, the statement said.
Police have not disclosed the motive for the alleged killing.
