It said the suspect was arrested on Saturday, 31 October, at Rafic Hariri International Airport in Beirut after arriving from Accra with the drugs concealed in two pieces of luggage.
In a statement signed by its acting Director for Public Affairs and International Relations, PNCO Francis Opoku Amoah, the commission said the seizure followed a coordinated “controlled delivery” exercise involving Ghanaian and Lebanese drug enforcement authorities.
“This successful apprehension resulted from a coordinated controlled delivery exercise, carried out through close operational cooperation between Ghanaian and Lebanese drug law enforcement authorities,” NACOC said.
A controlled delivery allows investigators to monitor a suspected drug shipment as it moves through a supply chain, with the aim of identifying and apprehending those involved.
NACOC said the operation was intended to identify targets at both ends of the shipment and gather intelligence to dismantle the wider trafficking network.
“As part of ongoing operation, NACOC is working to arrest his accomplices in Ghana,” the statement said.
The commission did not identify the arrested man or disclose the estimated value of the suspected cocaine, saying investigations were continuing.
The seizure comes amid a series of major drug interceptions involving shipments linked to Ghana.
In September, French authorities seized 3.9 tonnes of cocaine concealed in a container carrying plastic waste shipped from Ghana at the port of Dunkirk.
In August, authorities also intercepted 866 parcels of suspected cocaine concealed in sacks of gari at the Tema Port enclave.
NACOC said the Beirut operation demonstrated the importance of cross-border intelligence-sharing in tackling international drug trafficking networks.
The commission did not provide further details about the suspected accomplices or indicate when arrests in Ghana might be made.
