Spokesperson for the Bawumia campaign team, Dennis Miracles Aboagye, has announced his intention to contest for the position of National Communications Director of the opposition New Patriotic Party (NPP).
In a video shared on X on Sunday, July 12, 2026, Miracles said he was seeking the position as part of efforts to strengthen the party’s communication structures ahead of future elections.
He said his decision was motivated by a desire to help reposition the NPP’s communication strategy and effectively communicate the party’s policies, values and vision to Ghanaians.
The National Communications Director is one of the key elected national executive positions within the NPP and is responsible for coordinating the party’s communication strategy, media engagements and public messaging.
Miracles has held several communication and political roles within the NPP, including serving as spokesperson for former Vice President Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia’s presidential campaign.
He previously served as Municipal Chief Executive for Akuapem North. His declaration comes as the NPP prepares for its national delegates conference and internal elections to elect new national executives following the party’s defeat in the 2024 general election.
Dennis Miracles Aboagye (Born February 27, 1985) is a Ghanaian politician who previously served as a Presidential Staffer Responsible for Local Government and Decentralization, with additional responsibility as the Executive Secretary of the Inter-Ministerial Coordinating Committee on Decentralization.
He is an only child, born and raised in Larteh Akuapem in the Eastern Region of Ghana. He started his basic education at the Larteh Presby Primary School and later proceeded to Swedru International School (SWIS), where he completed it; then he attended Okuapeman School, where he completed his secondary education.
After his secondary education, he attended the University of Ghana, where he gained a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Political Science. He holds a Chartered Postgraduate Diploma in Marketing from The Chartered Institute of Marketing, UK, and is a Chartered Marketer with the Chartered Institute of Marketing Ghana (CIMG). Dennis is a devoted Christian and married with four children.
He was Municipal Chief Executive for Akuapem North, then was appointed by Nana Akuffo-Addo as a Presidential Staffer with special responsibilities for local government, decentralization and rural development. Dennis has served through the ranks of his Political Party, the New Patriotic Party. He is a leading Communicator for the Government and Party.
He has served as an executive of the party at the Polling station before becoming a Constituency Youth Organizer for Akropong Constituency. He was the Campaign Manager for his party in Akropong Constituency for the 2008, 2012, and 2016 Elections.
He is a Patron of his Political Party at the Constituency and Regional levels. He serves on several Committees for the Party at the Regional and National levels, assisting in Strategy formulation and execution. Dennis Served as a Special Aide to the Member of Parliament for Akropong, Hon. William Ofori Boafo between 2007 – 2013.
He was appointed as a Spokesperson for the Vice-President, H.E. Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, during the 2023 New Patriotic Party Presidential Primaries.
Currently serving as a Presidential Staffer, with additional responsibility as the Executive Secretary for the Inter-Ministerial Coordinating Committee on Decentralization, an 11-member Ministerial Committee Chaired by the President, H.E Nana Addo Dankwah Akufo-Addo, with the mandate to drive Policy Formulation and Coordination geared towards deepening Decentralization in Ghana.
Dennis has been working in the sales and marketing industry for over 10 years, with expertise in fast-moving consumer goods and financial services.
He also worked in the pension industry, where he started as a client relations executive, was promoted to relationship manager, and later became the unit head in charge of client relations.
Dennis was the Eastern Regional Director of Youth Enterprises and Skills Development Center (YESDEC), a World Bank-funded project promoting job creation
