The Black Stars will start the tournament with a match against Cape Verde on Sunday 14 January, 2024 at the Stade Félix Houphouët Boigny.

Black Stars coach Chris Hughton has named a final 27-man squad for the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) in Côte d’Ivoire.

Notable names missing from the squad include Thomas Partey, Tariq Lamptey, Fataw Issahaku and Baba Rahman.

Partey has not played a competitive game since Ghana’s October friendly games against Mexico and the United States of America.

The Arsenal midfielder only returned to team training last month following his injury in October.

Three Ghana Premier League players have, however, been named in Hughton’s 27-man squad with Asante Kotoko’s Richmond Lamptey making the cut.

The other two are Medeama duo Hamid Abdul Fatawu and Jonathan Sowah who gained their maiden Black Stars call-ups under the Irish trainer.
