The Bono Regional Chairman of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Kwame BaffoeKwame Baffoe, popularly known as Abronye DC, has been remanded into the custody of the Bureau of National Investigations (BNI).

The Accra Circuit Court remanded him into BNI custody when he appeared before the court on Wednesday, May 13, 2026, over the publication of an online video in which he allegedly made derogatory remarks suggesting that a Circuit Court judge was consistently presiding over political cases and delivering rulings that were wrong and riddled with grammatical errors.

According to the prosecution, Kwame Baffoe, in an attempt to incite public disaffection against both the court and the judge, stated: “You are not a judge but rather a politician who has who has covered your hair with a sack claiming you are a judge.”

Prosecutors further told the court that the accused launched a series of attacks against the judge on social media following comments made by a pastor about the Vice President in a case that is currently before the court.

He has been charged with one count of publication of false news and one count of offensive conduct conducive to the breach of the peace.

An application for bail filed by his lawyers was denied.

He is expected to reappear before the court on May 27, 2026.
