Gyankroma Akufo-Addo, a daughter of former President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo, has firmly refuted reports that she was given $25 million to beautify parts of Accra.

In a firm public statement issued on Friday, March 27, 2026, she dismissed the allegation as baseless and reiterated that no such contract has ever existed, been proposed, or awarded to her.

“Let me state, again, unequivocally and for the record: This claim is completely false,” she stressed.

“No such contract has ever existed, been offered, or been awarded.”

She further challenged those behind the claims to produce evidence, insisting that none exists.

“If any individual, media platform, or commentator is in possession of such a contract, I challenge them to produce it publicly. They will not because it does not exist,” she added.

Addressing the origins of her work, Gyankroma Akufo-Addo explained that the Art for All projects were independently developed and funded. According to her, the initiative was implemented through the Creative Arts Agency, with support from private sector partners as well as her own personal contributions. She emphasised that these details have already been made public and remain unchanged.

She also accused certain individuals and platforms of deliberately reviving the claims to mislead the public and damage her reputation.

“The deliberate revival and spread of this fabrication, particularly across social media platforms is a calculated attempt to mislead the public and damage my reputation,” she stated.

In response, Gyankroma Akufo-Addo announced that she has initiated legal action over the matter.

“Accordingly, I have today instructed my lawyers to take immediate legal action against the individuals, platforms, and media outlets responsible for publishing and amplifying these falsehoods,” she said, adding firmly: “I will not allow deliberate misinformation to go unchallenged.”
