The Iustum Center for Democracy and Governance (ICEDEG Africa LBG) has congratulated the nine African countries that have secured qualification to the Round of 32 of the ongoing FIFA World Cup, describing the feat as a defining moment for African football and a testament to the continent’s growing competitiveness on the global stage.

The countries—Morocco, Ghana, Senegal, Côte d’Ivoire, Egypt, Algeria, DR Congo, Cape Verde, and South Africa—have all progressed beyond the group stage, marking one of Africa’s strongest collective performances in World Cup history.

Historic Moment

In a congratulatory message, ICEDEG Africa commended the teams for their resilience, discipline, and determination, noting that their achievements have inspired millions across the continent.

The organisation stated that the success of the nine nations demonstrates that African football has evolved significantly and is now capable of competing consistently with the world’s traditional football powerhouses.

Special Commendation for Ghana

ICEDEG Africa reserved special praise for Ghana’s Black Stars, who secured qualification to the knockout stage before playing their final group match. This remarkable achievement reflects the team’s consistency and tactical discipline throughout the tournament.

The organisation said the Black Stars have once again united Ghanaians behind a common cause and rekindled national pride through their impressive performances on the world’s biggest football stage.

Going Forward

ICEDEG Africa urged the nine African representatives to remain focused as the competition enters the knockout phase, expressing optimism that this year’s tournament presents a genuine opportunity for an African nation to reach unprecedented heights.

“The entire continent stands proudly behind our teams. Africa has shown that it did not come to this World Cup merely to participate, but to compete, inspire, and make history,” the statement concluded.
